I put a slice of sharp cheddar on all double crust pies in memory of my father. A well traveled Missourian. Though he only did this for apple pie, I find Cheddar on Blueberry is divine. But cheese baked into the crust-oh no no no! Mom would put Dad's piece in the oven under the broiler just until the cheese started to melt.
