I've got two articles published on this topic--I did the math, my investment in my writing through Medium pays better than my savings account! It took seven months and 100+ articles for me to "break even." My dear friend hopped on and achieved that with one article! So, you just never know. Keep writing and submitting!! Good luck in 2022.
